AQIP Site Visit
Hennepin Technical College has a Successful Accreditation Visit
Hennepin Technical College (HTC) underwent a comprehensive evaluation visit from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools February 11-13, 2009. The Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) quality checkup team members were Mr. Stephen Eaton, Dean of Occupational Studies at Mid Michigan Community College, MI and Ms. Karlene Tyler, Associate Academic Dean of McPherson College, KS. The visit from the Higher Learning Commission was part of an on-going step to maintain accreditation status.
The visit gave HTC an opportunity to highlight our commitment to continuous improvement, organizational quality and innovation within the AQIP framework. During the visit, the evaluators had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with faculty, staff, administration, community and students, and also toured the Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie campuses. At the end of the three day visit, the evaluators presented closing remarks and gave praise to HTC for the quality education we provide and for the respect and pride we receive, particularly from our business partners and alumni. They were impressed with major improvements in our assessment processes since becoming an AQIP member in 2003. The evaluators also commended us on our awareness of opportunities and plans of action for future growth and improvement.
