Work Study is an on-campus financial aid program. The hourly wage is $8.00 and a maximum of 20 hours can be worked each week while classes are in session. Contact the supervisor of the position you are interested in and if hired go to the Financial Aid Office for the necessary paperwork to begin working.

Description: Open and close CSC (Connections Student Center) on a regular punctual schedule - maintain a clean and organized work area and keep the CSC clean and organized - accurately sign-in all visitors to the CSC and maintain their information secure at all times - perform basic clerical skills, answer phones, take accurate messages, greet public, file, copy, fax, document formatting, develop spreadsheets - assist current and prospective students with registration, financial aid and admissions information - running errands on campus including pick-up/delivery of items to/from other departments and assisting in other areas as assigned - perform tasks using various computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications - help in planning and executing campus events organized by student clubs, student organizations, and staff
Qualifications: Ability to follow oral and written directions and complete tasks with moderate supervision - should possess good writing skills including the correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation - be detail oriented - must adhere to a dress code which may include a provided "college specific" attire - must be able to interface well with college students, staff, faculty, campus guests, and other work study students - must possess a good general knowledge of the school so as to properly answer questions to visitors, guests, and during events or over the phone - knowledge of ISRS (college data base) is a plus

Description: This position will not be starting until October. Student workers will work in the new writing center providing 1:1 writing coaching/tutoring for peers - they will also create resources to provide ongoing help for students, as well as participate in functions sponsored by the center
Qualifications: This position will not be starting until October. A grade of "A" in Writing and Research or an acceptable transferred class - proven success in English classes - a 90% or better on a writing center English test - ability to work well 1:1 in coaching other students (guiding and critiquing while also motivating) - recommendations from faculty and previous employers (if applicable) - ability to work with diverse personalities and writing issues - ability to provide the necessary help that is in keeping with the writing center mission - ability to take initiative - excellent interpersonal skills, including patience and encouragement - and ability to effectively handle stress

Student will work in the Math center tutoring students on math homework - will be asked to contribute ideas to improve the center - when students are not in for tutoring help, worker will be expected to straighten the center, work on computer software training or other types of tutor training improvements

Description: HTC`s Admissions & Multicultural/International Department is looking for a select group of students who are dedicated to positively promoting and representing HTC - they will serve as an essential component of our college`s marketing and recruiting efforts - positively represent HTC student body - assist the Admissions office in the recruitment process - have a general understanding of the admissions process - act as an ambassador from the student body to visitors of the college at various events such as orientations and open houses - assist in the recruitment of future Student Ambassadors - engage in a variety of professional development opportunities throughout the academic year
Qualifications: Enthusiasm and a positive attitude - promptness and a good work ethic as well as maintain a professional/work appropriate appearance - ability and comfortability with speaking, communicating, and interacting in small and large groups - experience using basic computer applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel - genuine desire to promote and help maintain HTC`s excellent academic and customer service reputation - must be in good academic standing (cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher) and have completed at least one full academic semester at HTC (earning a minimum of 12 credits) - application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a member of an academic institution (high school or college) or current/former employee peer or supervisor (letter is optional for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher) - must be able to work at least 20 hours per week and be willing to work flexible hours
