Graphic design is an important part of our visual world. From websites to magazines to brochures to product packaging, a graphic designer plays a role in determining how they look. In HTC’s Graphic Design program, you’ll benefit from hands-on training that prepares you to present ideas and concepts using the most advanced technology, whether your emphasis is in creative, web design or the printing industry. Skills Required

Students enrolling at Hennepin Technical College will complete Accuplacer Placement Testing. The purpose of the assessment test is to provide you and the college with information about your current academic skill levels in reading, writing, mathematics, and computer literacy. This will help you select appropriate courses and support services, help you succeed, plan a course of study with your counselor or academic advisor, and have a successful college experience.

Graphic design is an ever-changing and evolving professional career with many occupational categories and opportunities. One might find employment in a production environment, customer service, customer support, sales, creative production, consulting or training. Occupational titles include but are not limited to creative designer, graphic designer, print production artist, web designer, web producer, web developer, production artist, advertising artist, art typographer. Common working environments might include design or production, in a corporation, agency, advertising or marketing setting, printing company, or graphics service bureau.
