The Bakery and Pastry Entrepreneur options represent an expansion to Hennepin Tech’s Culinary Arts program which is ACF-accredited and ranked in the top 20 nationally.

Degree Information



Hands-on Learning

  • Students create innovative flavor profiles and unique designs while baking a variety of pastries, specialty cakes, confections, desserts and artisan breads.
  • Hennepin Tech has two commercial kitchens dedicated to student education and feature state-of-the art equipment.
  • An active Culinary Club allow students to hone their skills and provides leadership opportunities.


  • Hennepin Tech has an overall high job placement rate and provides free career placement and networking opportunities.
  • Each month, renowned chefs visit campus to share their expertise with students.
  • Students learn in-demand skills such as gluten-free baking and small business management.

Options to fit your schedule

In just two years, students earn a Baking and Pastry Entrepreneur associate degree which prepares individuals to operate their own culinary business. We are the only college in Minnesota State to offer this associate degree.

For students who prefer a fast-track, students may earn a culinary-only certificate in eight months.
