In the last session, the Minnesota legislature passed a bill aimed at helping students pursuing career and technical education in high-demand areas. On Saturday, March 31, the first round of those scholarships were awarded to 27 students who will be attending Hennepin Technical College in Fall 2018.  The students are all high school seniors who will be graduating later this spring from districts including Anoka-Hennepin, Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Shakopee, Bloomington,  Fridley, Wayzata, Faribault, Hopkins, Brooklyn Center, and Minnesota Virtual High School.

Students were awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $2,500 each to pursue their education in Advanced Manufacturing (11 students), Information Technology (10 students), and Health (6 students).

Thanks to the state legislature for the initial career pathway funding, and to the generous Hennepin Technical College donors who have increased the impact by providing matching funds.
