To apply for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application is free. Beware of sites requesting payment to file the application.

Apply for Scholarships

Scholarships are a great way to help pay for college. The Hennepin Technical College Foundation offers scholarships for fall and spring semesters.

  • Hennepin Tech Foundation Scholarships
    Types of scholarships available are need-based, merit-based, and program-specific.
  • Workforce Development Scholarships
    Scholarships are awarded to new students pursing an Associates Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in high-demand fields of Manufacturing and Engineering, Healthcare, and Information Technology.
  • Scholarships from Community Partners
    It’s smart to look for financial resources within your community or network. Community organizations like a Chamber of Commerce or professional organizations in your field of study may offer scholarships to students in their community or profession.

Announcements

  • New regulations starting for the Fall Term of 2026 require loans to be reduced for students attending less than half time (fewer than 12 credits)   Loans will be resuced prior to disbursement.   Please be aware if you are taking less than 12 cedits your loan amounts will be reduced and your disbursements may be delayed.
  • Loans certified for one term (fall only or spring only or summer only) will have two disbursements, one at the beginning of the term and one at the midpoint of the term.
  • First time borrowers will have loan disbursements delayed by 30 days after the start of the term.
  • Programs that are less than 16 credits are not eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid Funds, this includes Pell grant and all Federal Student Loans.
