Orientation & registration is required for all new students AFTER you complete your placement test or have your testing waived.

If you have applied, been accepted, taken your placement test and know what classes you want to register for, you may complete online orientation and register on your own.

Online orientation is your only option for beginning in the Spring 2015 semester.

  • Be familiar with campus resources and campus life.
  • Be introduced to college technology.
  • Feel prepared to start college at HTC.

Who is required to complete new student orientation?

Any student who has never taken classes at Hennepin Technical College is required to complete new student orientation. This includes Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) students, transfer students, non-degree seeking students, and students only taking one class.

Cancelling a reservation for an on campus orientation

To cancel your reservation for a New Student Orientation, please contact Jess Lauritsen at, include your name and date you are registered for orientation and it will be canceled for you. To schedule another New Student Orientation, click on the link on the right side of the screen.

Parking for on campus orientation

When you come to campus for new student orientation, please park in any student designated lot (no permit is required for student lots) or in our visitor parking spaces. If you park in visitor spaces, please go to the Information Desk at the main entrance to the building to sign in. Student Ambassadors will direct you to the room for orientation.

International Students

In addition to attending a new student orientation session, all international students may be required to attend International Student Orientation. Information regarding International Student Orientation will be available online.
