From time of registration through 5th business day of the semester
(or day after class starts for late start classes).
Please see a counselor before you withdraw to be sure you understand the consequences.

After 5th day of semester (free add/drop period):

  • Through 80% of semester, for semester long courses


  • Through 80% of course, for courses that do not meet entire length of term 

Processed online through e- Services account

Processed online through eServices account

Does not appear on transcript

Class appears on transcript with a “W” grade

No financial responsibility for course

Financially responsible for the credits 

Does not impact satisfactory academic progress

Does not impact GPA 
  Does impact completion rate
