HENNEPIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE NAMED A WHITE HOUSE HEALTHY CAMPUS

The United States White House launched the Healthy Campus Challenge in an effort to engage college and university campuses across the country to help get more students and young people enrolled through health insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act.

Jessica Lauritsen, Director of Student Life has been leading our HTC healthy campus initiatives for the last four years.

Jessica Lauritsen and Brenna Hucka, Student Life Coordinator enrolled HTC in the Healthy Campus Challenge this past fall making HTC one of 350 campuses across the nation who participated by encouraging students to enroll in health insurance during the open enrollment period.

After completing the challenge, select campuses were chosen to visit the White House on Friday, January 13, for Healthy Campus Day and HTC was one of them!  Representing the college are President Dr. Merrill Irving, Jr., Jessica Lauritsen and Brenna Hucka.

You can watch the events online at  www.whitehouse.gov/live from 9:30 – 11:30 CST January 13, 2017. There is also an opportunity to watch live in the student lounge on both campuses.

Additional information will be shared after the visit.
