Course Description

This course is designed for students who need to improve their grammar skills to be more effective writers. This course builds on the skills acquired in ENGL0906 and involves applying basic grammar, usage, and punctuation skills to writing basic sentence patterns.

Apply American standard grammar rules
Apply mechanics
Apply punctuation
Amend sentences containing errors
Write a variety of sentences, including versions of each of the 4 types of sentences
Revise a variety of sentences
Combine independent clauses to create compound sentences
Combine dependent and independent clauses to create complex sentences
