Course Description

3D modeling and animation is used by many fields such as architecture, medical, engineering, forensics, and the entertainment industry. Students in this course will build on their previous knowledge in 3D modeling and animation as they study advanced level methods and techniques.

Course Goals

The following goals will be addressed in the course:
Integrate particle systems into animated scenes
Demonstrate soft body animation
Create HDRI (high dynamic range image) scenes
Construct models with heightmaps
Use advanced materials and textures in models and animations
Create armatures and mesh objects
Develop complex animation sequences using IK (inverse kinematics)
Demonstrate the ability to function as a team member on large group projects
Produce polished portfolio ready output of still images and video
