Motorcycle Safety Training

Hennepin Technical College has partnered with the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center (MMSC), Driver and Vehicle Service (a division of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety), Minnesota State Colleges & Universities, along with community and corporate sponsors to provide one of the most comprehensive safety programs in the world. The MMSC and HTC are committed to reducing motorcycle crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

Research shows that rider education is the most critical aspect of any motorcycle safety project. The following courses are offered to riders of all experience levels. Please see the below dropdown menu for further information on each course.

  • Basic Rider Course: 11.5 Hours
  • Intermediate Rider Course: 5 Hours
  • Advanced Rider Course: 8 Hours
  • Expert Rider Course: 8 Hours

NOTE: If you are 18 years or older and possess a valid motorcycle permit (from a Minnesota license exam station) you may be able to earn your motorcycle endorsement upon successful completion of the basic rider course. Parent/guardian signature is required for participants under 18 years of age.
