Fall Semester Application Deadlines

  • May 1st - New International students from outside the U.S.
  • June 1st - Transfer International students from within the U.S.

Spring Semester Application Deadlines

  • October 1st - New International students from outside the U.S.
  • November 1st - Transfer International students from within the U.S.

Additional application materials must be received at the Hennepin Technical College Enrollment Services International Admissions office by the appropriate deadline date above. Late or incomplete applications will be canceled.

Enclose a copy of your Hennepin Technical College International Application Confirmation Email containing your name and Student ID#.

Requirement 2: Submit Academic Records

F-1 students are required to have completed secondary education. Official academic records from secondary education and all colleges and universities must be evaluated by an approved evaluation service before submission to Hennepin Technical College. Provide all non-U.S. academic records to one of our approved credential evaluators listed below:

Requirement 3: Proof of English Proficiency

Hennepin Technical College will accept one of the following options as proof as English Language proficiency:

  • Test of English Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Cambridge Michigan Language Assessment (CaMLA)
  • An English Course taken at a college or university in the United States of America with a passing grade of C or better
  • Accuplacer Placement Test: If you are applying from inside the United States, you can substitute Hennepin Tech’s Accuplacer test for the TOFEL test. Student must test into college level reading and sentence skills to start classes at Hennepin Technical College.

Requirement 4: Submit Documentation of Financial Support

You must submit a notarized, current, original bank statement showing a balance of at least $22,808 in U.S. currency to demonstrate adequate financial support to cover all educational and living expenses while you study at Hennepin Technical College. If you have a sponsor, your sponsor must submit an Affidavit of Support (I-134) and a notarized, current, original bank statement showing a balance of at least $22,808 in U.S. currency. The bank statement must be in English, certified by a bank official, and not less than two (2) months old at the time of application (dated within the past two months from the application date).
