Email and OneDrive Migration

Hennepin Technical College email and OneDrive are moving to the Minnesota State system. The transition is from May 24 – 27, 2019. 

Why are we making this change?
  • The migration will reduce institutional risk by enhancing cybersecurity.
  • It streamlines Minnesota State SharePoint and creates easier collaboration for faculty, staff and students who have relationships with multiple institutions in the system. 
  • All Minnesota State Institutions will complete this migration and approximately 27 out of 30 have already done so.
What will change?
Your email address will remain the same. Your login will change.
When will the outage occur?
  • Email and OneDrive will be unavailable during the transition period. The outage is expected to last up to four days from May 24 – 27, 2019. (Memorial Day Weekend)
  • We will communicate with you frequently to ensure that you have the information that you need to prepare for the migration. You do not need to take any action at this time. 

Services NOT affected by this transition

  • StarID and Password
  • Wireless network
  • Computer login
  • D2L BrightSpace
  • File/Web space, department files, course files, etc.
  • EServices
  • All online applications that utilize StarID for login

Changes to Office 365 Login and Email

LOGIN to Office 365
(This username is used to ACCESS your email and other Office 365 applications.)



EMAIL ADDRESS – Hennepin Technical College 
(This is the email address that people will use to send you an email.)





StarID and password will remain the same.
This change does not affect computer logins or applications other than Office 365.

As of May 27, 2019, if you are unable to access your email or are having issues getting logged in, please reach out to the Help Desk Technology Services, or 952-995-1411, and they will be able to assist you.
