Sociology Department

Sociologists study the relationship between the individual and their society.  Sociology courses help students develop the cultural awareness and key critical thinking skills necessary to achieve success in their chosen career field or academic transfer area.  Students in sociology classes will learn how to analyze contemporary issues from different perspectives, explore the relationships between social institutions, and compare cultures between different societies.  These skills will prepare students for living and working in an increasingly global and diverse world.
