Congratulations to Hennepin Technical College Student Guadalupe Lira-Jimenez!
Lupe has been selected as the LEAD MN Student Leader of the Year. LEAD MN represents the 180,000 two-year college students across Minnesota. Each year one student is selected “who has risen above all other students both in their actions and their attitude to bring their campus, their association, and the community together, and give back to each of these communities.”
She is a familiar face on the Hennepin Technical College campus, where she is the President for the Brooklyn Park Campus Student Senate, volunteers in many capacities with the Latino Club, is a Student Experience Team leader, and excels in the Landscape and Horticulture academic program. Additionally, she serves as a LEAD MN Governing Council member.
In her nomination letter, Dean of Students Jessica Lauritsen says “Guadalupe has been incredibly engaged on campus, while performing well in her academics and working to prepare for her career. She is an inspirational leader and representative of our campus!”
Lupe represents the best of Hennepin Technical College, and we’re so proud that she’s been recognized for her leadership and community engagement.

Additionally, both the Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie Student Senates received the Star Campus Designation from LEAD MN involvement efforts and recognition as an example to other campus governments.
