Hennepin Technical College Appoints Dr. Amanda Turner as Vice Provost of Enrollment Management

Brooklyn Park, MN, April 2, 2019 – Hennepin Technical College (HTC) is strengthening its leadership team to support its long-term strategic goals and is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Amanda Turner as Vice Provost of Enrollment Management, effective June 24, 2019.

In her role, Dr. Turner will report to Jeffrey Parks, HTC Provost, and lead all enrollment functions, including developing, coordinating, implementing, communicating and evaluating the college’s strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan and strategic initiatives around recruitment, enrollment, retention and completion. “Dr. Turner’s extensive experience in all aspects of the matriculation process will help improve student success rates and contribute to the longevity of HTC,” says Parks.

Dr. Turner has more than 15 years of experience as a student affairs professional in higher education. She presently serves as the Dean of Enrollment Services at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois where she is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and assessment for the division of enrollment services. During her tenure, she developed and implemented several student success initiatives, including the establishment of the Veterans Resource Center for student veterans and families, the first year experience program in spring 2017 and the first year advising program in fall 2018.

Previously, Dr. Turner was the Associate Dean of Enrollment Services at Triton College, Coordinator of Dual Enrollment at Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA and a Counselor at the Texas Academy of Leadership in Humanities at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. She has also been an adjunct faculty member with Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois since 2013.

Dr. Turner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. She also holds a Master of Social Work and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Florida State University. Additionally, she has presented at various conferences on college readiness, leadership development, assessment, and student persistence.
