Brooklyn Park, October 31, 2019 – If you are considering a career in law enforcement, join us for an open house at the Hennepin Technical College (HTC) to learn what it takes to become a licensed peace officer.

Law Enforcement Open House
Hennepin Technical College Law Enforcement Center
9110 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Thursday, November 14 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

The open house includes a tour of the facility, including police vehicle displays, firearms range, and a simulator with interactive videos to help students learn how to react in life-threatening situations.

The centerpiece of the facility is a large indoor training area with a realistic-looking convenience store, bank, and apartment building. Law enforcement students practice their response to crime scenes during staged scenarios such as robberies and active shooter incidents.

Accredited by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), HTC's Law Enforcement certificate program provides the theory and skills components of the mandated law enforcement curriculum.

Because HTC’s Law Enforcement Center is state-of-the-art, many city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies routinely use the facility for professional training. During the open house, the law enforcement community is welcomed to view the facility and learn more about future training opportunities.

For students interested in enrolling in the program, read our law enforcement program information at HennepinTech.edu. Or contact Thomas Engels: 763-657-3707 thomas.engels@hennepintech.edu
