HTC collects items for the Minneapolis recovery effort
Brooklyn Park, June 25, 2020 – Hennepin Technical College (HTC) is collecting donations that will be distributed to people who need help after the recent unrest in Minneapolis.
Last month, dozens of buildings were damaged or destroyed in the Lake Street area. The destruction occurred following the death of George Floyd while in police custody.
HTC is collecting donations including non-perishable food items, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, such as laundry detergent and paper towels. After the collection, the items will be provided to non-profit groups including El Colegio Charter School and the YMCA-Greater Twin Cities.
Now through July 24, employees, students and members of the public may bring donations to the collection bins located inside the main HTC campus building at both campus locations. In addition, HTC will accept donations during curbside drop-off events.
