Hennepin Technical College has announced that it will be hosting M-STEP (Minnesota Symposium on Terrorism and Emergency Preparedness) on November 19th and 20th at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park, MN.

The conference, in its 13th year, brings together security professionals, law enforcement officials and government representatives who plan, manage and respond to local, regional and national threats posed by natural disasters, emergencies and terrorism. This event is one of the few regional conferences for professionals from both public and private organizations to learn, share, and come together to address common concerns related to emergency response, planning and preparedness.

“M-STEP provides the latest information regarding terrorism and emergency management issues that first responders and others face each day,” says Todd Seitz, Brooklyn Park Deputy Fire Chief who has been involved with M-STEP for over 12 years. “This conference, unlike a lot of others, brings together first responders (police, fire, EMS) along with emergency managers, medical professionals, school officials, and business folks. This way we get to understand each other’s roles and responsibilities at these emergencies.”
