Inquiry Period Dates:

New F1 International Students

Step 1: Choose an Eligible Program of Study for F-1 Visa students

Step 2: Complete Request for Information Form:

•  The student must fill out this form with their contact information.
• If this form is completed on behalf of the student, the student’s contact information must be entered. The International Student Services Team must contact the student directly.
  • If the contact information does not belong to the student, the inquiry is considered invalid.
• Please indicate “Type Request” as Program Information and “Student Type” as International on the form.

Step 3: Send an email answering the questions below:

If applicable, please include student’s STAR ID or TECHID in the email response.

1. What is your full name?
2. What country and city do you currently reside in?
3. Is where you currently reside, also where you have citizenship? If not, list your country of citizenship.
4. Are you hoping to apply for an F1 Visa through Hennepin Technical College, or are you currently an F1 Visa student in hopes of transferring to our institution?
5. Are you currently on a visa? If yes, what visa?
6. Are you a resident of Minnesota or in the process of a Green-card?
7. What is your Program of Interest?
8. Which semester term would you like to begin your education at Hennepin Technical College?

Step 4: What Happens Next?

The International Services Team will contact the prospective student. Allow 2-4 business days after the initial inquiry is submitted, for the information to be processed. If, after 4 business days, the student has not received a response, the student may email  International@hennepintech.edu.

What prospective students can look forward to:

The International Services Team will notify the student, via email, if they are or are not eligible to continue through the enrollment process with Hennepin Technical College. Eligibility is determined upon the responses to the inquiry questions, visa type, and if Hennepin Tech has the correct program and resources to ensure the student’s success.

For F1 Visa Inquiries

Students approved to continue through the enrollment process should look for an email containing interview times. The emails are sent from International@Hennepintech.edu. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom based on the student’s time zone and within the working hours of the International Services Team. Interview questions will be sent to the student 2-3 days before the interview, allowing time for students to adequately prepare.
