Brooklyn Park, MN — Hennepin Technical College Culinary Arts student Joni Mack has been named the 2025 Student Chef of the Year by the American Culinary Federation Minnesota Chefs Chapter (ACF MCC) and has also received a scholarship in recognition of her accomplishments.
The ACF MCC awards scholarships annually to student members based on merit, involvement, and dedication to the culinary profession. From a competitive pool of applicants, one student is selected as the Student Chef of the Year by the ACF MCC Board of Governors and the Chef of the Year Selection Committee, which is comprised of past Chef of the Year recipients.
Joni was selected for her strong participation in chapter activities, community volunteerism, involvement in culinary competitions, and commitment to professional development. Her engagement at both the local and broader chapter levels, along with consistent meeting attendance, demonstrated her dedication to the culinary field.
In a statement from ACF MCC,
“Joni’s attention to detail, passion for the culinary industry, involvement in chapter events, and willingness to volunteer to help your community are all prime examples of why she is the ACF MCC Student Chef of the Year for 2025.” Chef John VanHouse
Joni’s recognition reflects both her talent and work ethic, as well as the high-quality training and mentorship provided through Hennepin Technical College’s Culinary Arts program. The college proudly celebrates her achievement and looks forward to her continued success in the culinary industry.
