Cassy Jensen is a trailblazer. In 2021, she earned an associate degree in the HVAC program. Faculty believe that Jensen is the first woman of color to graduate from HVAC at the college.

The coronavirus has changed the way we enter the front door at Hennepin Technical College. Each day, when people arrive at the entrance, a HTC security team member uses a hand-held electronic thermometer to take each person’s temperature.


HTC has received a new federal grant that will reduce technology barriers for low-income students during the COVID-19 crisis.


William Buck, a student at HTC, is one of 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named a 2020 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.


Minnesota State has announced the formation of a Taskforce on Law Enforcement Education Reform. The Taskforce will lead a critical examination of current law enforcement education programs across the Minnesota State system using an anti-racism and equity-focused lens. The action is one element of Minnesota State’s multi-prong approach to law enforcement education reform being taken in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.


We are launching a new initiative, “Ending the Silence on Racism.” Through this campaign, we invite our campus and the broader community to learn more about the devastating harm of systemic racism and engage in critical conversations about racial equity and social justice.
