Hennepin Tech Unveils First Phase of Major Website Update

Hennepin Technical College has launched the first phase of a major update to its website, HennepinTech.edu, aimed at enhancing user experience and accessibility for all visitors. The updated site features an improved navigation structure, updated architecture, and new tailored landing pages specifically designed for prospective students, current students, and employees.

The initiative, led by the Web & Digital Media Manager, Marissa Dibba, was more than a year in the making. A comprehensive effort was undertaken to gather feedback from students, faculty, and staff, ensuring that the updates reflect the needs and priorities of the entire college community.

“We wanted to create a website that truly serves our users, whether they are current students looking for resources, prospective students exploring their options, or employees accessing internal tools,” said Dibba. “The input from our stakeholders was invaluable in shaping the direction of this project.”

To guide the redesign, the college formed a Website Task Force, consisting of representatives from across the institution. This task force played a critical role in reviewing development priorities and ensuring that the updates aligned with the college's strategic goals.

The updated site architecture and navigation make it easier for visitors to find the information they need quickly and efficiently. New landing pages provide tailored experiences, offering relevant content and resources for each audience group.

“We approached the redesign with data and best practices for SEO in mind, aiming to improve both the visibility and functionality of the site,” Dibba added. “This launch is just the beginning. We are committed to continuously improving the website to better serve our community.”

This release marks the first phase of the website update, with additional improvements planned for the future. The college remains dedicated to enhancing its digital presence and looks forward to unveiling further updates that will continue to support its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education.
