Application Process

Please follow the application steps thoroughly to ensure your application goes through without any problems. If you need assistance in completing your application please reach out to Becky Koltes.

1. From the Hennepin Tech website, click the "Apply Now" button. It's located on the bottom of every webpage.
2. Click on "Create StarID"
   
   Note: If you have applied to another MinnState college before, you have a StarID. Please log in with your existing StarID and password instead of creating a new one.
3. Create your password
   Password requirements
   
   • At least 8 characters long
   • Contain upper and lowercase letters
   • Have numbers and/or special characters.
   • Can't contain your name. Example: College22!
4. Click on "Get My StarID"
   
   Note: please write down your StarID and password. You must remember it.
5. Fill in First, Middle and Last Name
6. Please enter your date of birth. Social Security number is not needed. Click "Next".
7. Answer the questions on these pages and click "Next/Continue".
8. Answer the questions on these pages and click "Continue to Contact/Next".
9. Enter your Permanent Address and Phone Number. Click "Next/Continue to Education".
10. Select "Yes" for currently in High School.
11. Select your High School from the drop-down menu. Enter your graduation date and GPA. If you do not know your GPA, please enter 0.00.
12. Skip the High School Preparation Standards sections and click "Next".
13. Complete the Confidential - Demographic Information and click "Continue to Major".
14. Click "Fall 2022" (first one listed) for the semester you're going to start class.
15. Select "PSEO Student", click "Next".
16. For Concurrent Enrollment, select the option "Complete Courses, but not a degree" and a "part-time student".
17. Add a major if you know what you plan to major in at Hennepin Technical College. Otherwise, click "Next".
18. Select "Hennepin Tech in the High School" for Concurrent Enrollment (last one).
19. Select if you have attended Hennepin Technical College before. Then click "Continue to Additional".
20. You can leave this page blank, or, select the Clubs and Activities you're interested in joining at Hennepin Tech. Click "Continue to Review".
21. Please review the information that was entered. Make any changes if needed. Click "Continue to Submit Application" when all information is correct.
22. Click "Select All" in the box.
23. Enter your StarID password.
24. Click the green "Submit Selected Application" button.
25. You are done!

Click "Next" to proceed. Click "Previous" to go back to previous page.
