Hennepin Tech Open House is April 27

Brooklyn Park, March 24, 2022 – Hennepin Technical College (Hennepin Tech) is welcoming visitors to the Brooklyn Park campus for the annual Open House and Registration Event on Thursday, April 27, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Potential students and their families will tour the campus and learn about the college’s 40+ academic programs. While supplies last, visitors who tour the campus will receive a free voucher to spend at Food Trucks that will be located at the event. Visitors may also receive free prizes and enter to win a drawing for an iPad.

Activities to learn about the college include:

  • Visit state-of-the-art learning labs and facilities
  • Meet faculty and learn about the hands-on instruction at the college
  • Talk with staff members about financial aid, scholarships and grants

Current students are invited as well. New students and current students will meet with advisors to register for summer and fall classes.

50th Anniversary Celebration

This year’s Open House will be an opportunity for the college to celebrate its 50th anniversary with the community. Hennepin Tech was founded in 1972 and the college has been celebrating the milestone throughout the academic year.

At 5:30 pm during the Open House, visitors will gather in the cafeteria for the official 50th Anniversary Recognition Ceremony. Culinary students are preparing gourmet cuisine and speakers will reflect on the contributions that the college and its alumni have had in the community. The college will display a Time Capsule that is filled with items that represent campus life in 2022-2023.

National Recognition

Hennepin Tech is the state’s largest stand-alone technical college. It is nationally recognized for providing a quality education that launches graduates into the skilled trades and many other high-demand careers. Tuition is among the lowest in Minnesota. The college offers two-year associate degrees as well as ” fast track” programs — diplomas and certificates that can be completed in a few months.

Career fields include manufacturing, health care, information technology, transportation, building programs, graphic design/video production, landscaping/horticulture, culinary arts, early childhood education and more.
