Hennepin Technical College

Free Meals at Brooklyn Park Campus

Free, fresh meals are available in the marked cooler in the cafeteria at Brooklyn Park Campus. Take a meal for lunch or dinner! Available while campus is open and as long as food lasts or gone. Meals will be available beginning the week of 1/17/2022.

Hunger Free Campus

Hennepin Technical College has partnered with Good in the ‘Hood! and the Food Group to provide free groceries to those in need.  Groceries are distributed on a first come, first serve basis right on campus. 

Resource Closet

The Resource Closet is sponsored by the CARE Education Team and is available from 6am-6pm or by request at the Public Safety desk from 6-9:30pm.

Assistance Programs

Community Emergency Assistance Progam (CEAP)

CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Programs) was founded in 1970 as a food shelf responding to the growing need for human services in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Hunger Solutions MN (statewide)

Hunger Solutions Minnesota works to end hunger in our state. We take action to assure food security for all Minnesotans by supporting programs and agencies that provide food to those in need, advancing sound public policy, building grassroots advocacy, and informing and educating critical stakeholders about the status of hunger in Minnesota.

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is a nonprofit organization serving free, healthy meals to Minnesotans where the need is greatest. We serve urban, suburban and rural communities through a variety of meal programs supported by creative food sourcing and food rescue efforts.

PRISM (People Responding in Social Ministry) (Golden Valley)

PRISM's mission is to provide social services and connections that empower people in our community to build healthy, stable lives.

PROP (People Reaching Out to People) (Eden Prairie)

PROP offers support through an array of programs to help people get back on their feet, regain control, and live a life where they can thrive.

Second Harvest Heartland

Second Harvest Heartland believes everyone should have reliable access to food. We’re committed to advocating, educating, and providing food until everyone in our service area has what they need to thrive.

The Food Group

The Food Group is a local nonprofit focused on using nutritious food to strengthen community. We work at the intersection of food access, equity, and nutrition issues related to food and hunger in 32 counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We break down barriers to growing good food locally and getting good food to those who need it most.

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) (Bloomington)

VEAP is a basic needs organization whose programs include access to healthy foods, social services, housing stability and supportive services

ICA Food Shelf (Minnetonka)

ICA Food Shelf serves residents of Hopkins, Minnetonka, Excelsior, Shorewood, Deephaven, Greenwood, and Woodland. You must live within one of these cities to use ICA’s services

Loaves and Fishes Dining Sites

Ruby's Pop-up Pantry

Ruby's mission is to activate people in being alert to the needs of others and to be proactive in encouraging faith, showing friendship and meeting tangible needs of neighbors, friends and strangers regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. We gather various food overages, surpluses, and bumper crops into generous food bundles for a low $22 contribution.

YMCA and Every Meal (various locations)

YMCA and Every Meal are partnering to distribute food bags (meals) to our community at various YMCA locations.
