BECOME A MORE CONFIDENT READER AND WRITER FOR COLLEGE! This comprehensive English Language Arts class is designed for students who are considering enrollment at Hennepin Technical College and are preparing for the Accuplacer placement test. Topics include strategies for stronger reading comprehension, writing construction, and academic vocabulary acquisition.

In addition, the class is open to ESL students who are currently enrolled at HTC, or other adult academic programs, who have the goal of improving reading, writing and academic vocabulary skills. This interactive class includes teacher-lead instruction, small group collaboration, and plenty of opportunities for practice inside and outside of the classroom.

Students who take College Skills classes will be allowed to retake the Accuplacer test even if they have exceeded their limit of retakes. Also, students who attend College Skills classes will have their $10 retake fee waived for the Accuplacer. (Regular attendance is required.)
